About Me

Hey! My name is Meryl Strauss, and I’m a Graphic/ Fashion Designer in New York City. I have worked in the design industry since 2012, after graduating with a BFA in Fashion Design from Syracuse University, College of Visual and Performing Arts. During my studies, I also attended the University of Arts, London College of Fashion in London, UK, in 2011.

I have experience designing a wide variety of items, including backpacks and handbags, jewelry, room and gift items, prints, repeat patterns, packaging, fitness accessories and yoga mats. To design these items I start with researching current and future trends. I then use this inspiration to create a unique design by sketching, measuring, drawing CADs or creating graphic art in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and sometimes by creating a physical mock up. My favorite things to design are fashion accessories and handbags/ backpacks. Working on an item from start to finish, and seeing a design I created come to life, is incredibly fulfilling.

In my spare time I like to design, find new places to eat, listen to music, attend Rumble classes, read books on the beach, and explore new places.
